Minor league baseball games feature plenty of “Did that just happen?” moments.
Such was the case during Wednesday afternoon’s Fort Wayne Tin Caps vs Great Lakes Loons matchup, when a sprinkler exploded near the Tin Caps’ bullpen, out of nowhere.
In the top of the fifth inning, Fernando Perez went to track down a ball that was drifting foul down the first-base line. He would’ve had a play on it, except for the fact that a sprinkler erupted right in his face as he got there—shooting water everywhere.
Fans and players alike seemed to enjoy the geyser. Perez and his teammates had a good laugh about it.
