Denard Span is one of the fastest players in MLB. And during Wednesday night’s game with the Houston Astros, he showcased his speed.
And an error (E9) from OF George Springer helped, too.
Span saw an elevated fastball from P Brett Oberholtzer and crushed it into the right field gap. With his speed, it would’ve normally been a triple. But Springer slipped, misplayed the ball and took a long time to finally pick it up cleanly to hurl it toward the infield.
Denard Span with a triple, but gets all the way home when the ball gets away at the wall from George Springer. 1-0 #Nats in the 3rd.

And hey, Span was pretty excited heading into this series. He must’ve known good things were in store in the near future.
At minute maid park. Now I can say I’ve been to every major league ball park
