Chad Johnson left many defensive backs in the dust during his 12-year tenure in the NFL. The big, physical receiver was great at gaining separation by outmuscling his opposition—week in, week out.
Well, we’ve know discovered there’s good reason as to why he played wide receiver, rather than cornerback: He can’t cover! Or at least he chose not to in one particular flag football game.
And in the particular play, he played off the receiver he was matched up against with a 5-yard cushion. Even that didn’t help matters, as Johnson was burned on a double-move for a deep touchdown pass.
At least he was honest about it:
